Clinical Laboratory Associate

Position summary

We are seeking to add a Clinical Laboratory Associate to our scientific team. The role of the CLA is to perform tests that require a complex network of steps and variables, independent judgment, and interpretation. Candidates should demonstrate knowledge of molecular and/or cytogenetic techniques and basic laboratory skills. The CLA will work effectively in a team setting, adhere to the laboratory's quality control policies, including proper documentation and adherence to all laboratory protocols and procedures, and exhibit ethical behavior, maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines. This position is based in Spokane, WA. This position is expected to be full-time at 40 hours per week with a starting salary of $22/hour and is eligible for benefits including options for health, dental, and vision insurance as well as 401K and paid time off. Detailed information will be shared with candidates. The typical hours for this position are Tuesday - Saturday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Perform tests that require a complex network of steps and variables, independent judgment, and interpretation.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of molecular and/or cytogenetic techniques.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of basic laboratory skills, equipment startup, daily maintenance, and shutdown.
  • Work effectively in a team setting and assist in other departments as needed.
  • Adhere to the laboratory’s Quality Control policies, including proper documentation and adherence to all laboratory protocols and procedures.
  • Exhibit ethical behavior and maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
  • Become knowledgeable of and comply with all company policies and practices.
  • Attend mandatory programs and laboratory staff meetings.
  • Acquire 6-12 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) per year by attending or giving presentations covering a variety of topics relevant to Allele Diagnostics.
  • Be able to adapt to new and changing roles, responsibilities, demands, and technologies.
  • Independently recognize non-standard situations, notify supervisor and, if applicable, document all corrective actions taken when test systems or processes deviate from the laboratory’s established specifications and/or protocols.
  • Anticipate and prevent problems independently by taking corrective actions before crises occur; take appropriate steps to resolve.
  • Actively participate in department-specific improvement plans.
  • Demonstrate effective communication between other departments.
  • Be able to establish workload priorities in order to ensure maximum workflow efficiency.
  • Recognize and respond to opportunities to improve the quality and efficiency of service.
  • Monitor inventory requirements and take appropriate action.
  • Participate in accrediting agency surveys; perform proficiency testing in the same manner as patient samples and participate in follow-up to resolve any inaccurate results.

Requirements

  • Baccalaureate Degree in a Chemistry, Physics, or Biology based science.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as statistics, fractions, percentages, ratios, etc.
  • Aptitude for interpreting a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule.
  • Competency with computers and Microsoft Office programs, such as Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work extended hours as business needs dictate.

Sales and Account Analyst

Position summary

The Sales and Account Analyst will be responsible for lead generation, upsells and total attainment of laboratory testing for accounts throughout the US via virtual as well as in person visits, as well as assisting Sales staff to identify and develop new account opportunities. This role will assist the customer care team in the setup and administrative support of new customer information into the CRM Jupiter system. This role can be accomplished remotely in a work-from-home environment, or in the office, or both.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • The Sales and Account Analyst work hand-in-hand with the Sales Dept to support their needs in growing the business.
  • Manage account inquiries in a manner that minimizes account attrition and negative volume variance.
  • Assist Sales staff by prospecting new business opportunities and evaluating potential growth opportunities of existing clients.
  • Identify and pursue up-selling and cross-selling opportunities in cooperation with Sales staff.
  • Manage accounts through ongoing business reviews, logistics, and supplies to identify client needs.
  • Analyze the utilization/profitability of existing accounts, then develop and execute action plans to increase these returns.
  • Provide educational support to existing clients on all current and existing laboratory tests and services, by means of telephone support, zoom trainings, and in-person visits.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of Allele tests and services, as well as competitors, and present this information to DBD in a functional manner.
  • Field travel to ensure customer retention by building stronger client relationships, developing multiple points of contact within accounts, and supporting Sales when closing select leads.
  • Utilize CRM/Jupiter and complete all administrative tasks on time.
  • Ensure total compliance with all company policies and government regulations.
  • Manage other projects/responsibilities as assigned by Director of Business Development.
  • Leverage all tools and resources including data, sales portal, target lists; Marketing Development, Laboratory Resources as needed.
  • Partner with Customer Service group to facilitate, prioritize, and resolve customer service issues as required.
  • Research lead generation and update leads into CRM / Jupiter application for future sales targets.
  • Calls and visits into hospital accounts to identify appropriate future contacts.
  • For new Account Setup, support company customer support team through Initial communication to gather account information; Communicate with client when first sample is received, when first report is issued, when first invoice is sent; work through issues with first few samples (with customer support as resource).
  • Manage communication with clients as they reach out with questions; forward inquiries about specific patients to customer support to handle.
  • Coordinate communication with client regarding changes in staffing at the client site. Keep Jupiter updated with these changes; push updates to customer support.
  • Coordinate meetings as needed by clients/prospective clients, work with clinical support team to provide appropriate education as needed.
  • Staff booth at conferences, coordinate conference attendance as needed.
  • Making sure we have printed materials for conferences, for sales team; Identify what we need, communicate to customer support and/or print locally if appropriate for individual materials.
  • Support holiday and lab week mailers (i.e. Lab week gifts to labs, Holiday communication to main contact in lab and clinical contacts). Coordinate recipient list, plan mailings.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree with minimum 3 years inside or outside sales experience in a life science field - OR -
  • Bachelor's degree with minimum 1 year inside or outside sales experience in a life science field.
  • Show demonstrated experience with successful client engagement and a track record of supporting sales goals.

Notes

Potential 5% of base salary quarterly bonus, contingent on performance. Health, Dental Vision, STD/LTD, 401k, and paid time off.

$45k to $60k base salary DOE
